Disability Beatitudes

Disability Beatitudes

This poem was recited during Joshwa’s recognition day and this poem almost moved me to tears. Very touching and yet it was everything that a person  with disability should tell the whole world. I failed to catch the name of the author and yet when I googled it just says that the author was anonymous.

Welcome to our Roller Coaster Ride with Autism each day is always something new, each day is different. Sometime a new behavior emerges and another goes away. I don’t know why but I’m always about to have a nervous break down whenever I don’t see Joshwa. We live in a two bedroom condo and yet I always have to know where he is or is he being supervised. My mother always tells me that for an accident to happen it always takes just a split second and she’s right. Read the rest of this entry

How We Prepared For Joshwa’s ID Photo

How We Prepared For Joshwa’s ID Photo

Happy Birthday Joshwa

Happy Birthday Joshwa

To My Son,
I hope you know how much I love you so,
I might embarrass you from time to time
By giving lots of love and needless kisses,
But you need to know Mom loves you so,
Before you were born I didn’t know
just how much I would love you so,
But when I looked into your eyes for the first time,
I felt my heart grow and grow,
A Mothers love is hard to explain,
Not everyone will feel the same,
Now that you are getting older I felt the need to tell you,
Just how much I love you so,
Time may pass day after day or year after year, a
But the love I have for you grows
nearer and dearer to my heart each day and year,
I know that one day you might not me anymore to force you
to take your vitamins enough anymore despite the fact that
it has great multiple vitamin ratings.
To My Son I hope you know just how much I love you so.
