Big is Always Beautiful

For those of you who know me, I bet you will all agree when I say that I am anything but small. I proudly declare that big is beautiful! Unfortunately, in today’s society where we favor reed-thin and skinny models, those of us leaning on the bigger, healthier side are finding it hard to be accepted as attractive females, too! On the other side of the spectrum, I am just glad that there are certain steps you can take to make yourself feel more attractive and consequently for other people to be attracted to you. But the heck with that, I’d say love your big old self + be happy in your own skin.

I know it is easier said than done, but it is best to not be over-dramatic about the way you look, we all have hang-ups I know but you just need to learn to accept them. Although being overweight is stereotyped as being unhealthy, some people are just naturally born that way. Simply eat right and get regular exercise. Do away with starve-yourself diets and consult your physician and dietitian to help you design a healthier lifestyle complete with a healthier eating habit. Remember that weighing lighter does not really mean you are healthier. Do not confine your self-worth in a bunch of numbers your digital weighing scale churns out, you are definitely way too valuable than that!

So the bottom line is in everything you do it’s either you go big or you go home.

  Size Does Matter

I recently attended a blog event of McDonald’s that launched their new Big and Tasty burgers, where they gave us some tasks to accomplish, the first of which is to hug the biggest stuffed toy I can find. This was probably the hardest because I had no idea where to start. We went to several stores and found some stuffed toys, but they weren’t big enough. Finally I found this big stuffed animal in one shop but just before I bring out my camera to capture our big hug I was told by one of the staff said that taking photos are not allowed in their store. After a few days of searching and researching I got lucky and found a store that has the biggest teddy bear I can find! So, I guess that can be compared to the process of preparing a Mc Donald’s Big Tasty Burger, where only the freshest ingredients are used to create them and there is no short-cutting your way just to get things done, much like my quest to find the perfect-sized bear.

The new McDonald’s Big N’ Tasty is made from the freshest ingredients available. Featuring a 100% pure beef quarter-pound patty seasoned with only salt and pepper, creamy cheese, crispy lettuce, juicy tomato, fresh onions, tangy pickles, and a special smoky sauce in between a sesame seed bun, Big N’ Tasty is for McDonald’s and burger lovers who expect nothing less. What’s not to love? It was so delicious I shared with my special someone, my husband Philbert. I asked my daughter to give it to him as a Father’s day gift and he absolutely loved it!

Sending a Greeting Card

The value of expressing emotion to enhance relationships cannot be overstated. It’s often hard, though, to say your positive feelings out loud; it is much easier to write them. But in our fast-paced, hectic world, very few people take the time to write a note, much more a letter. But call it old-fashioned, I still think it gives you a quick, easy way to express your feelings in appropriate ways to strengthen relationship bonds.  For my next task I decided to cheer up my friend, Ann, and give her a greeting card.  I really do think that a greeting card message is an easy way to say “I think you’re special.” Whether you give greeting card wishes to friends or to people you’d enjoy having as friends, the effect will be satisfying for everyone.

 Murals and Graffiti

For my biggest mural or graffiti task, I decided to play it simple yet smart. Initially, I wanted to have my photo taken in EDSA but had to decide against it. There is just no way I can pull it off. So when my friend and I were eating our snacks in McDonald’s. I decided that this is the perfect backdrop since they have remodeled almost all of their stores + since then most of the stores have a great mural concept.

Usually murals can be a relatively effective tool of social emancipation or achieving a political goal and are often commissioned by local bars and coffee shops. The thought-provoking visual effects are open invitation to attract public attention to pressing social issues. Murals can also have a dramatic impact whether consciously or subconsciously on the attitudes of passersby, especially when placed to areas where people live and work. Not to mention public murals also add aesthetic improvement to the daily lives of residents.

Look at what we found…
