PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR

PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR

PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR
By
Henry L. Yu, M.D.

Lord,
with a grateful heart, we come to You today to thank You for all the things gifts for him
that You have brought into our lives the past 365 days of the past year.

We
bow down and kneel before You, O Lord, and praise You as the Way, the Truth,
and the Life, a forgiving and merciful Father that You are.

Grant
us the grace of a deeply repentant heart. Forgive us for all the times that we
have been so selfish and proud, for the things that we have said and done which
may have hurt others, for doing the things which were not in accordance with
Your teachings. Pardon us, Lord, for all our sins and shortcomings.

Lord,
thank you for the good life – good health, good food, good friends, good
tidings, good cheers.

Thank
you for all the times that You have been there for us through our family and friends
who stood by us in good times or in bad.

Lord,
we ask for Your graces and blessings as we start another year, and as we
continue and go on with life’s many journeys. We offer to You our children:
Guide them in their daily activities, never allow them to be separated from
You.

We
offer to You our family: Grant us good health and guide us in our directions
and decisions in life. Let there always be love, peace, and harmony in our
home.

Help
us to treat everyone fairly and justly regardless of who they are. Remind us
always to have good thoughts, to say good words, and to do good deeds. But most
of all, to be humble all the days of our lives as we are all but passing
visitors on this earth.

In
all these, Lord, always remind us of Your love, and from that love, help us to
build and live life with You in our hearts and minds. For always. At all times.

Lord,
help us to start the new year right, with You as the center of our lives today,
tomorrow, and the coming days of the year 2012.

All
these we ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and God’s Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Happy Birthday Honey

Happy Birthday Honey

Every year I struggle when it comes to writing a birthday blog post for Philbert. Di kasi madali talaga mag blog tungkol sa isang tao na mahalaga sa yo. Para bang kung ano yung nararamdaman ko di ko malagay into words yung importance nya sa akin. But I’ll try to do it kasi wala pa akong gift hopefully he’ll like it enough to give me a free pass if not iisip na naman ako nang gift sa kanya. Read the rest of this entry

Puzzles

Puzzles

My husband currently into doing puzzles and since we have nothing to do while we are on vacation he does it with much gusto. He  and Tatay were able to do a 500 piece and 1000 piece  in 2 days.  A few weeks ago they did a 300 piece puzzle.

This is the 300 Piece Puzzle

This is the 500 Piece Puzzle

This is the Pièce de résistance (French pronunciation: [pjɛs də ʁezistɑ̃s]) is a French term (circa 1839), translated into English literally as “piece of (or for) resistance. The 100o piece puzzle which took them 12 hours to finish that includes breaks.

Nothing says family time than doing puzzles with your dad. It was indeed a lovely sight to behold I didn’t want to intrude on their private moment. I was also looking for the perfect gift for Philbert tomorrow is his birthday. I wonder if he would like a leather briefcase from GotBriefcases.com

Holiday Treats as Gifts try Mister Donut

Holiday Treats as Gifts try Mister Donut

During the holidays I am always stumped when I need to give something for a potluck or food for a gathering.  I really know that in life, there is nothing more heartwarming than seeing the smile on your loved one’s face as he or she opens your gift. The look of childlike wonder, the sweaty hands and giddy anticipation, the gleeful grin, the squeal of delight–they all

So this Christmas, I gave my friends  an extra serving of sweetest smiles effortlessly with Mister Donut’s Merrygalos, cool and festive holiday offers from one of the makers of great-tasting donuts in the country. Read the rest of this entry

Philbert’s New Toy

Philbert’s New Toy

This is what Philbert received from his brother and he totally loves his new toy. This is a Garmin GPS what exactly is a GPS? GPS means Global Positioning System (GPS) it is a satellite-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS was originally intended for military applications, but in the 1980s, the government made the system available for civilian use. GPS works in any weather conditions, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. There are no subscription fees or setup charges to use GPS.

I tried to have a bit of fun with it I changed the voices of the navigator and I tried to input our address in Dipolog and one time I typed pool pumps on the search button. Of course Philbert wasn’t amused because he’s scared that I might break it. Men!

Joshwa and Puberty

Joshwa and Puberty

This is it we are in puberty and this is one crazy rollercoaster ride. Joshwa’s voice is starting to change he is getting taller. This ur foray into what he will be like as a teenager. Lord Help Us!!! Puberty and being a teenager is challenging for any parent.  Imagine how challenging this will be if your child has autism. From what I have heard it can cause aggressive behavior and depression.

This is another big transitional hurdle for everyone in the family. This is another thing you don’t read too much about and no one ever talks about. I am prepared to see some regression which is not fun. He is verbal, affable, reads and does he great in school all of which we were told he’d never do.

I still have issues with the words recover and healing from autism.I have issues with words like ‘healed,’ ‘cured,’ ‘recovered.’ I don’t mind those that use them but I don’t use those words. While I’m always thrilled for anyone else’s child’s progress, my son still has autism. And we have adulthood to plan for.
